We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic consultant to lead the clinical haematology service at Leighton Hospital, as part of a collaborative venture between The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Mid-Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and consultant-level support to the development of the clinical haematology service.
- Implement best practice in Haematology and provide specialist input into the care of inpatients at Leighton Hospital.
- Lead and support the development of clinical haematology services across the southern sector of the Greater Manchester and Cheshire Cancer Network.
- Manage and deliver clinical and laboratory haematology services on the Leighton Hospital site.
The Christie haematology service acts as a tertiary referral centre for the management of patients with haematological malignancies and bone marrow failure. The service provides inpatient and outpatient management of a wide variety of benign and malignant haematological disorders.
Person Specification- FRCP/MRCP or equivalent AND FRCPath or equivalent.
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent.
- Experience in clinical haematology, blood transfusion, coagulation, and malignant haematology.
- Knowledge and appreciation of core legal, ethical, and political issues governing medical practice.
