Position Overview

The Radiology Department at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recognized nationally for its clinical excellence and high standards. We are seeking a dedicated Consultant in Neurovascular Intervention to join our esteemed team.

Role Summary

The neurovascular intervention service offers specialized care to a diverse population, addressing both acute and elective cases. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the continuous development and delivery of our comprehensive stroke service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of experienced neuro-interventional and diagnostic consultants.
  • Engage in the full spectrum of diagnostic and interventional neuroradiological services.
  • Contribute to the 24/7 stroke service, ensuring timely and effective patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and share expertise across the Thames Valley Radiology Network.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Medical Degree and full registration with the GMC.
  • FRCR or equivalent qualification.
  • Completion of specialist training in Radiology with a focus on interventional neuroradiology.
  • Experience in intra-arterial thrombectomy and oncological interventions.

Desirable:

  • Higher academic qualifications such as MD or MS.
  • Specialist fellowship in interventional neuroradiology.

Skills and Competencies

Essential:

  • Strong administrative and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to teaching and mentoring junior medical staff.

Desirable:

  • Management qualifications and experience in clinical governance.
  • Evidence of research activity and contributions to peer-reviewed journals.
