Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic Cardiology Department, which is known for its excellence in patient care and innovative practices. This position involves providing clinical leadership within a busy Echo Department, which conducts a significant number of echocardiographic studies annually. The role includes offering peri-procedural imaging support to a rapidly expanding structural interventional program.

About the Department

The Cardiology Department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including multiple dedicated echo rooms and a spacious procedure area. The department serves a diverse patient population and collaborates with various specialist services across multiple locations.

Currently, the department employs a team of accredited cardiac physiologists and supports a range of echocardiographic services, including physiologist-led lists and complex diagnostic studies. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in enhancing the clinical leadership within the department.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Full GMC registration and license to practice
  • Medical degree
  • CCT in Cardiology
  • Accreditation in Transthoracic Echocardiography
  • Comprehensive training in Clinical Cardiology and Echocardiography
  • Proficiency in Transoesophageal Echocardiography for guiding interventions

Desirable Attributes

  • Higher medical qualifications
  • Additional accreditations in advanced echocardiographic techniques
