Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Cardiology Outreach team at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work across our two acute hospital sites, providing expert clinical assessment, support, and onward referral for patients with cardiac conditions.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Provide advanced clinical assessment and support for patients attending the Emergency Department, Emergency Assessment Unit, and other departments or wards in the OUH sites.
  • Assess patients presenting in the Rapid Access Chest Pain clinic and expedite assessment, including appropriate tests and investigations based on clinical need.
  • Liaise with healthcare teams in primary care, secondary care, and tertiary care to establish systems of care that support the referral and management of patients with cardiac conditions.
Job Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of cardiac services at a local and national level, providing nursing expertise for patients, families, and carers.
  • Support and guide activities, developing and motivating staff education to ensure the development of effective, evidence-based multidisciplinary practice.
  • Provide expert practice through leadership, consultation, clinical advice, teaching, and support for staff.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse with a first degree and relevant specific course in cardiac nursing.
  • Up-to-date practice in Cardiology and evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in the field of Cardiology.
