Cardiology Clinical Education Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Cardiology Outreach / Liaison ANP team at the OUH, to work as part of a team of highly valued Cardiology Liaison Advanced Nurse Practitioners. The successful candidate will be required to work across our two acute hospital sites, the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury to provide Cardiology outreach cover 7 days a week.
Main Duties of the JobThe Post holder will work as part of the Cardiology team to provide advanced clinical assessment, support and onward referral for patients attending the Emergency Department, Emergency Assessment Unit, and any department or ward in the OUH sites. The Post holder will liaise across organisational boundaries with the health care teams in primary care, secondary care and tertiary care to establish systems of care that support the referral and management of patients that have or require urgent admission with a range of Cardiology conditions.

Job ResponsibilitiesThe Post holder will work as part of the Cardiology team to provide advanced clinical assessment, support and onward referral for patients attending the Emergency Department, Emergency Assessment Unit, and any department or ward in the OUH sites. The Post holder will contribute to the development of cardiac services at a local and national level, providing nursing expertise for patients, families and carers.
Person Specification- Registered Nurse
- First degree
- Relevant specific course in cardiac nursing
The successful candidate will have up to date practice in Cardiology and evidence of CPD and learning in the field of Cardiology. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
