Overview

Sustainability Cluster Lead – UK & Ireland

Based in Woking or Leeds with Hybrid working arrangements, including travel between locations.

Our sustainability objectives and benchmarks are established at a global level, with Group functions tasked with overseeing implementation to meet defined standards. As the Sustainability Cluster Lead, you will be responsible for advancing this strategy at a local level within the UK and Ireland markets, emphasizing its integration into Brand Marketing and Retailer initiatives to unlock commercial opportunities. This role will also prioritize enhancing local awareness, skills, and engagement regarding sustainability and nutrition, ensuring that brand marketing and sales teams are equipped for this evolving operational landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Cluster Marketing Director, local communications teams, Group Corporate Affairs, and Sustainability departments to develop a comprehensive plan for leveraging sustainability as a driver of commercial growth.
  • Integrating sustainability into Cluster communication strategies.
  • Ensuring accurate local sustainability reporting as necessary, working closely with Group Corporate Affairs, Sustainability, and Cluster teams. Contributing local case studies and data for both internal and external reporting as required.
  • Prioritizing the right projects and initiatives in alignment with global commitments, including animal welfare, sustainable seafood, and agriculture.
  • Enhancing knowledge and capabilities regarding sustainability within our workforce, identifying key focus areas for the Cluster.
  • Collaborating with Shopper Marketing teams to create impactful activation plans that effectively communicate essential sustainability messages and the benefits of frozen food at the point of sale (addressing food waste, nutrition, sourcing, value, etc.).
  • Actively engaging in key industry groups and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to strengthen our reputation in sustainability.

Qualifications

About You...

You possess a strong passion for sustainability and nutrition, with prior experience in a global, matrixed organization, demonstrating the ability to collaborate, communicate, and influence stakeholders effectively. We seek individuals who are results-oriented, embrace continuous learning, and bring positive energy, combining initiative with teamwork and collaboration.

  • Proven experience in advancing the sustainability agenda within branded businesses (FMCG experience preferred but not mandatory).
  • Demonstrated success in delivering across the complete commercial spectrum within the local market, as part of a broader global strategy.
  • Experience representing a large organization in sustainability-focused trade or other external bodies.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of providing structure and clarity.
  • Commercial insight - ability to illustrate benefits in relation to costs.
