Our sustainability initiatives and objectives are established at a global level, with Group functions overseeing the implementation to meet defined standards while managing legal and reputational risks to safeguard our operational license. As the Director of Sustainability, you will be responsible for advancing this strategy at a regional level (UK and Ireland), concentrating on integrating it into Brand Marketing and Retailer initiatives to unlock commercial opportunities. This position will also emphasize enhancing local awareness, skills, and engagement in sustainability and nutrition, ensuring that brand marketing and sales teams are equipped for this evolving operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with the Cluster Marketing Director, local communication teams, Group Corporate Affairs, and Sustainability departments to devise a clear strategy for leveraging sustainability as a catalyst for commercial growth. Integrating sustainability into Cluster communication channels. Ensuring accurate local sustainability reporting as needed, in close collaboration with Group Corporate Affairs, Sustainability, and Cluster teams. Contributing local case studies and data for both internal and external reporting as required. Prioritizing the right projects and programs in alignment with global commitments, including animal welfare, sustainable seafood, and agriculture. Fostering knowledge and capability in sustainability among our workforce, identifying key focus areas for the Cluster. Partnering with Shopper marketing teams to develop compelling activation strategies that convey essential sustainability messages and the benefits of frozen food at the point of sale (addressing food waste, nutrition, sourcing, value, etc.). Actively engaging in key industry groups and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to enhance our reputation in sustainability.

Qualifications

About You...

You possess a strong passion for sustainability and nutrition, with prior experience in a global, matrixed organization, capable of collaborating, communicating, and influencing stakeholders effectively. We seek individuals who are results-oriented, embrace learning, and bring positive energy, combining initiative with teamwork and collaboration.

Proven experience in advancing the sustainability agenda within branded organizations (FMCG experience preferred but not mandatory). Demonstrated success in delivering across the entire commercial spectrum within the local market, as part of a broader global strategy. Experience representing a large organization in sustainability-focused trade or other external forums. Strong project management skills, able to provide structure and clarity. Commercial insight - capable of demonstrating the benefits in relation to costs.
