As a Marine Sustainability Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in seafood markets, supply chains, aquaculture, and fisheries policies to contribute to the preservation of our planet's future.

With the alarming decline in biodiversity, it is crucial to address food production as a significant factor in this crisis. Our organization envisions a world where food production meets the needs of a growing population without compromising the environment.

Given that seafood constitutes a substantial portion of global animal protein consumption, ensuring the sustainable sourcing of seafood is essential for both humanity and the ecosystem.

In this role, you will spearhead the sustainable seafood initiatives within our partnerships, advocating for responsible seafood production and consumption practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sustainable seafood workstream in collaboration with partners.
  • Engage with food industry stakeholders to drive transformative changes.
  • Advocate for significant reforms in fisheries and seafood policies at various governance levels.
  • Work alongside colleagues to ensure effective delivery of seafood improvement projects and advocacy efforts.
  • Communicate critical issues related to the seafood program in alignment with broader food sustainability strategies.

Qualifications:

To contribute effectively to our mission, candidates should possess a relevant degree or substantial experience in seafood supply chains, aquaculture, fisheries, or marine science across public, private, academic, or NGO sectors.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of seafood markets and policies, along with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Analytical capabilities are essential, as you will be expected to interpret scientific data and translate complex information into actionable policies and communications.
