Widening Participation Coordinator

Job Summary:
Lancaster University is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the team in the division of External Relations, Social Mobility and Student Success. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with young people and a creative approach to coordinating outreach projects and activities designed to raise attainment and broaden the aspirations of students from widening participation backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with key contacts to monitor the progress of students participating in outreach activities and provide constructive feedback to maximize their learning.
- Develop and deliver workshops and presentations at partner schools and colleges to raise awareness of higher education opportunities and support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with teachers and schools/colleges to coordinate outreach projects and activities that promote social mobility and address educational inequality.
- Develop knowledge of higher education topics, including progression routes, student finance, and the UCAS application process.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with young people, teachers, and schools/colleges to coordinate outreach projects and activities.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging workshops and presentations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings, and willingness to travel across the North West and occasionally further afield within the UK.
