Job Summary:

Lancaster University is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Widening Participation Co-Ordinator. This is a full-time, indefinite role that involves coordinating outreach projects and activities to raise attainment and broaden the aspirations of students from widening participation backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver workshops and presentations at partner schools and colleges to raise awareness of higher education opportunities and support students in making informed decisions.
  • Liaise with key contacts to monitor the progress of students participating in outreach activities and provide constructive feedback to maximize their learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and schools/colleges to coordinate outreach projects and activities that promote social mobility and address educational inequality.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, colleges, and community organizations, to promote Lancaster University's widening participation initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies and initiatives to increase diversity and inclusion at Lancaster University.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people, teachers, and schools/colleges to coordinate outreach projects and activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and travel.
  • Knowledge of higher education topics, including progression routes, student finance, and the UCAS application process.
