Overview

Are you a seasoned Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) seeking a rewarding opportunity in a dynamic environment? This role offers both full-time and part-time positions within a dedicated team focused on delivering Tier 4 inpatient care for adolescents facing eating disorders.

At Elysium Healthcare, you will be part of a renowned inpatient service catering to young individuals aged 12 to 18 years, where you will implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

To excel in this position, you must hold registration on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and possess a license to practice, along with substantial experience in managing CAMHS Eating Disorders and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a caseload as the Responsible Clinician (RC) for the ward.
  • Engage in the assessment and management of young patients referred to the service.
  • Evaluate physical health and document findings within the electronic health record system.
  • Ensure timely completion of professional reports, including ICRs, CPA, and Tribunal documentation.
  • Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients under the Mental Health Act.
  • Attend Child and Adolescent Mental Health Reviews (CETRs) as necessary.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and risk management support to team key workers.
  • Participate in the CAMHS Consultant on-call rota.
  • Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities as endorsed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Uphold the principles of Clinical Governance and comply with organizational clinical governance standards.
  • Take part in an Annual Appraisal Programme, focusing on the development of Personal Development Plans and Continuing Professional Development.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a valid license to practice.
  • Experience in CAMHS eating disorders is preferred.
  • Medically qualified with MRCPsych or equivalent qualifications.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to drive professional and organizational change.
