About the Role

The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our HIV Mental Health Team. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in HIV, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients living with HIV, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric assessment and brief interventions to patients with mental health disorders related to their HIV diagnosis.
  • Liaise and consult with referrers, including the HIV clinical team, to ensure seamless care coordination and provision of mental health support.
  • Contribute to care planning, risk management, and treatment of patients alongside the wider HIV mental health team.
  • Collaborate with other psychiatric and mental health services within Sussex Partnership to support patients with complex difficulties.
  • Participate in the strategic development of mental health support for HIV patients and contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing stigma and improving outcomes.

The HIV Mental Health Team is a dynamic and supportive team that works closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in HIV, you will be part of a team that is committed to providing compassionate and person-centered care, and to reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes for patients living with HIV.

Requirements

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
