Position Overview
The University of Worcester is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Educator for the Physician Associate MSc Program. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of healthcare education, contributing to the academic and professional development of aspiring Physician Associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction and engage in educational activities for the Physician Associate program and other related programs, utilizing your expertise to create impactful learning experiences.
- Oversee specific modules within the PA Program, ensuring academic leadership and the provision of essential theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for clinical practice.
- Collaborate in the design and implementation of campus-based teaching across all modules, adapting to the needs of students and the curriculum.
- Develop innovative and engaging educational materials and assessments that inspire student learning.
- Participate actively in curriculum development, contributing to the planning, execution, and evaluation of teaching and learning initiatives.
- Serve as a Personal Academic Tutor, providing guidance and support to PA students throughout their academic journey.
- Supervise dissertations and evaluate student work as required.
- Engage in academic administrative duties and participate in relevant committees within the School and University.
- Contribute to the assessment process, including the creation, marking, and moderation of student work in line with quality assurance standards.
- Maintain tutorial responsibilities, ensuring accurate records for individual and group students.
- Actively participate in the broader life of the School, College, and University, representing the institution and engaging in ambassadorial activities.
Course Leadership Responsibilities
The Course Leader role encompasses three primary areas:
- Academic Leadership and Delivery: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective course coordination and provide robust academic and pastoral support for students.
- Course Quality Assurance: Ensure the course meets high standards of academic quality and compliance with regulations, leading the preparation of necessary documentation for accreditation.
- Course Enhancement: Manage the annual evaluation process to inform course improvements and contribute to the development of the program portfolio.
Professional Development
Post holders are expected to engage in continuous professional development, participate in training activities, and promote a culture of health, safety, and well-being within the academic community.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential qualifications include a minimum of two years of post-qualification experience, a background in teaching within a university or clinical environment, and a relevant healthcare professional qualification. Registration with an appropriate professional body is also required.
Desirable qualifications include a PG Cert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education or equivalent, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development and scholarly activity.
