Lead the Way in Physician Associate Education

The University of Worcester is a leading institution in the field of healthcare education, and we are seeking an exceptional Academic Leader to join our team as Head of Department for the Physician Associate Programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team of educators and contribute to the design and implementation of a new curriculum for Physician Associate students. As a Senior Lecturer in Physician Associate Studies, you will be responsible for the leadership of the programme, including collaboration with NHS partners, preparation for the PA Apprenticeship, and regulation of physicians associates with the GMC.

We are looking for a proven leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can motivate and influence their colleagues to achieve positive outcomes. You will have a strong awareness of the Higher Education environment and be able to demonstrate your expertise in Physician Associate education.

This is a permanent Principal Lecturer post with a role allocation as Head of Department, which is for an initial fixed term of 3 years. We value diversity and wish to promote equality at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Physician Associate Programme and its research and scholarship output
  • Collaborate with NHS partners to seek opportunities for joint working ventures
  • Prepare for the PA Apprenticeship and regulation of physicians associates with the GMC
  • Align course design, syllabus, and assessments with GMC learning outcomes
