Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Women's Engagement Worker to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health. This is an exciting opportunity to work with women and women's support agencies to identify and reduce barriers for women accessing drug and alcohol treatment.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Women's Engagement Worker, you will have the opportunity to develop this role to meet the needs of the local community, liaising with stakeholders and providing Recovery Coordination for a cohort of female service users. You will complete initial comprehensive assessments, introduction to the service, and engaging hard-to-reach service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to engage women and women's support agencies in the recovery process
  • Provide comprehensive assessments and introductions to the service for female service users
  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify and reduce barriers for women accessing drug and alcohol treatment
  • Work with vulnerable women or working in women-specific services
  • Demonstrate excellent effective communication skills with service users, their families, significant others, members of the public, and professionals

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with experience of working as a Recovery Coordinator and a positive regard for substance misusers. The ideal candidate will have excellent effective communication skills and the ability to work with vulnerable women or working in women-specific services.
