Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Women's Engagement Worker to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health. This is an exciting opportunity to work with women and women's support agencies to identify and reduce barriers for women accessing drug and alcohol treatment.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Women's Engagement Worker, you will have the opportunity to develop this role to meet the needs of the local community, liaising with stakeholders and providing Recovery Coordination for a cohort of female service users. You will complete initial comprehensive assessments, introduction to the service, and engaging hard-to-reach service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to engage women and women's support agencies in reducing barriers to accessing drug and alcohol treatment.
  • Provide Recovery Coordination for a cohort of female service users, including initial comprehensive assessments and introduction to the service.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Engage hard-to-reach service users and provide support to help them access treatment.
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who has a positive regard for substance misusers and understands the importance of working in partnership with them and other services to encourage independence.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with service users, their families, significant others, and professionals. They will also have experience of working within community substance misuse services and be able to demonstrate a commitment to reducing barriers for women accessing treatment.
