Hours: 37 hours a week (any day of the week) working anytime between 06:00am-Midnight. Flexibility in hours and days is essential for this position.

The Centre for International Trade operates as part of APHA's Customer Service Centre Network throughout the UK, handling a diverse range of responsibilities to facilitate the import and export of live animals, plants, and related products to the EU and other countries.


We also provide export certifications for various materials, including plant products, seeds, and potatoes, ensuring they are free from pests and diseases to enable our clients to export their goods, thereby safeguarding the food supply chain.

Responsibilities include responding to telephone and email inquiries and following up on unresolved queries.

Conduct classification of potatoes produced and marketed in England and Wales, ensuring that seed potatoes comply with established health and quality standards.

Register and authorize professional operators to generate UK plant passports, which trace the movement of plants within the UK.
Authorize the import, movement, and storage of restricted materials for specific purposes, such as scientific research and educational initiatives.


During the initial week, all successful candidates will participate in an orientation program at one of our offices to gain insights into working at APHA, along with a comprehensive training schedule.
