Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Radiology Governance Co-ordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality care to our patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that robust governance processes are in place, using strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills. This will involve working closely with colleagues in radiology and the division to ensure that systems and processes are in place to support the key pillars of governance.

The role will also involve providing governance advice and support to the first point of contact for governance-related matters, ensuring that effective and responsive administration is in place in the care group governance agenda. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regular reports on governance activity to the care group and division, identifying, communicating, and escalating themes to ensure appropriate action is taken in response to patient safety events and patient feedback.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IRMER and healthcare governance, as well as an understanding of the clinical specialties and modalities within radiology. They will also have experience in a governance/assurance role in the healthcare provider environment and be able to use word, excel, and PowerPoint.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • Essential qualifications: evidence of study/professional development to degree level or equivalent level, RSAII Typing qualification or equivalent, and specialist knowledge and training acquired through relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Desirable qualifications: project management experience, root cause analysis experience, and experience in service development.
  • Previous or relevant experience: proven experience in one area of governance (risk management, complaints, clinical effectiveness, patient involvement) gained through experience, computer literacy in Word and Excel, and knowledge of all areas of Governance including Health & Safety, COSHH, Manual Handling.
