Culinary Service Associate - Norwich, Norfolk

Overview

The National Trust is celebrated for its exceptional food and hospitality services. Operating numerous cafes, tea-rooms, and restaurants across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, we are seeking a Culinary Service Associate to contribute at Blickling Estate. In this position, you will play a vital role in enhancing the visitor experience, ensuring that guests enjoy a memorable outing. Please review our benefits package outlined below. Hours: This is a flexible 0-hour role, with hourly pay and a fixed-term contract. While we strive to provide a consistent working schedule, flexibility is essential as adjustments may be necessary to meet business needs. Weekend and Bank Holiday shifts are included, but there are no evening or split shifts. Salary: £11.50 per hour. Contract Duration: Fixed Term Contract.

Work Environment

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you will be situated at Blickling Estate, a vast estate in the picturesque Norfolk countryside. The estate boasts woodlands, gardens, and several historic buildings, alongside a gift shop and cafes offering a variety of beverages and light meals, with both indoor and outdoor seating options.

Key Responsibilities

As a Culinary Service Associate, your primary responsibility will be customer-facing, engaging directly with visitors. You will warmly welcome and assist all guests at the café. With a passion for service and a positive attitude, you will ensure that every visitor has an enjoyable experience. This dynamic environment requires strong teamwork and adaptability.
Understanding customer needs, making recommendations, and maintaining high standards of food and beverage presentation will be essential. You will also ensure that displays and signage are accurate and visually appealing. Occasionally, you may assist the kitchen team with food preparation.
We will provide comprehensive training, including allergen awareness and food safety, along with any necessary mentoring to support your success in this role. Opportunities for further professional development are available.
