Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Neonatologist to join our innovative and dynamic Neonatal Intensive Care Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering clinical excellence in neonatal medicine and providing high-quality care to our patients.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide and supervise medical care to neonates within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), postnatal wards, and neonatal clinics.
  • Support the care of neonates within other areas of the Trust, working collaboratively with colleagues within subspecialties, Obstetrics, Midwifery, and the Fetal Medicine service.
  • Participate in an on-call rota in conjunction with the existing team to provide Consultant cover to the Neonatal Service and the Neonatal transport service.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A CCT in Neonates or equivalent experience as defined by the Neonatal CSAC
  • Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
  • Wide neonatal intensive care experience, including experience of working within a neonatal service with a high-risk prenatal/obstetric referral centre
