Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Neonatologist to join our innovative and dynamic Neonatal Intensive Care Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and supervising medical care to neonates within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), postnatal wards, and neonatal clinics. They will also support the care of neonates within other areas of the Trust, working collaboratively with colleagues within subspecialties, Obstetrics, Midwifery, and the Fetal Medicine service.

The Consultant Neonatologist will be expected to deliver clinical excellence within the speciality of Neonatal Medicine and must have the skills to deliver neonatal intensive care within a tertiary NICU with neonatal surgical and cardiac subspecialty patients.

Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • MRCPCH/MRCP (or equivalent)
  • Neonatal Life Support (NLS) Provider

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate their competence to communicate in spoken and written English and have a CCT in Neonates or equivalent experience as defined by the Neonatal CSAC.
