About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Medicine Specialist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS FT. As a Consultant Neonatologist, you will play a key role in delivering clinical excellence within the speciality of Neonatal Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and supervise medical care to neonates within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), postnatal wards, and neonatal clinics.
  • Support the care of neonates within other areas of the Trust, working collaboratively with colleagues within subspecialties, Obstetrics, Midwifery, and the Fetal Medicine service.
  • Undertake duties in the UHS hub of the Consultant-led Network Transport service and participate in an on-call rota in conjunction with the existing team to provide Consultant cover to the Neonatal Service and the Neonatal transport service.
Requirements
  • CCT in Neonates or equivalent experience as defined by the Neonatal CSAC.
  • Experience as a consultant in a level 3 neonatal unit, or experience as a trainee within six months of obtaining their neonatal CCT.
  • Ability to communicate in spoken and written English.
