About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Neonatologist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Neonatal Intensive Care Service, you will be responsible for delivering clinical excellence in neonatal medicine and providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing and supervising medical care to neonates within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), postnatal wards, and neonatal clinics.
  • Supporting the care of neonates within other areas of the Trust, working collaboratively with colleagues within subspecialties, Obstetrics, Midwifery, and the Fetal Medicine service.
  • Participating in an on-call rota in conjunction with the existing team to provide Consultant cover to the Neonatal Service and the Neonatal transport service.

Requirements

  • CCT in Neonates or equivalent experience as defined by the Neonatal CSAC.
  • Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems.
  • Wide neonatal intensive care experience, including experience of working within a neonatal service with a high-risk prenatal/obstetric referral centre.
  • Advanced skills in Neonatal Medicine, including Neonatal Surgical experience and knowledge and training in Child Protection.
