Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Neonatal Medicine Specialist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical excellence in Neonatal Medicine and will work collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and supervise medical care to neonates within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), postnatal wards, and neonatal clinics.
  • Support the care of neonates within other areas of the Trust, working collaboratively with colleagues within subspecialties, Obstetrics, Midwifery, and the Fetal Medicine service.
  • Undertake duties in the UHS hub of the Consultant-led Network Transport service and participate in an on-call rota to provide Consultant cover to the Neonatal Service and the Neonatal transport service.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver clinical excellence, be motivated and adaptable to changes within the NHS, and have a drive to improve patient care and services. This may include an interest in perinatal care, including antenatal counselling and liaison with fetal medicine, perinatal and neonatal palliative care, family integrated care, and transition to tertiary pediatric services.
