Cardiff, Cardiff, United Kingdom Public Health Wales Full time

Position Overview

Are you skilled in fostering positive relationships? Do you excel in providing empathetic support? If you have experience in healthcare assistance or a similar field, this position may be ideal for you.

The Welsh Government is committed to achieving a smoke-free Wales by 2030. To reach this goal, we aim to address the significant impact of smoking on the most vulnerable populations in our communities. We seek individuals who are passionate about assisting smokers in their journey to quit.

A rewarding opportunity has emerged for a full-time ( hours per week) support advisor to join the National Quit Smoking Support Centre. These roles are offered on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

The Quit Smoking Support Centre is looking for a dedicated individual who is committed to providing an outstanding client-focused service, playing a vital role in helping individuals across Wales make a significant change for their health.

The Centre is responsible for scheduling appointments for smokers to access various Quit Smoking Services throughout Wales and serves as the primary contact for all incoming inquiries.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal abilities, maintain a professional and composed telephone demeanor, demonstrate a non-judgmental attitude, and be capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

The Centre operates six days a week (Monday - Saturday), with hours from 9am-8pm on Monday and Wednesday, 9am-6pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and 9am-5pm on Friday and Saturday. You will work on a rotating schedule with fellow team members.

This is a permanent position with hours per week, based in our Public Health Wales NHS Trust offices.

Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this role; applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.

We welcome applications from individuals interested in part-time work or job-sharing arrangements.
