The Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant will be an integral part of the vibrant Levy sector within Compass Group, directly reporting to the Sector Analyst. This role involves consolidation, reporting, and analysis for the Finance Director and Heads of Finance.

As an FP&A Analyst in our Levy sector, you will work from our Birmingham office with the flexibility to occasionally work from home. The responsibilities of the Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant include:
  • Assisting in the preparation of essential business reports such as month-end reports, weekly updates, budgets, and various ad-hoc analyses.
  • Consolidating weekly updates and leading the implementation of the new Quicksight flash process.
  • Conducting monthly balance sheet reviews for central Levy, highlighting key risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders.
  • Preparing the Levy Balance Sheet/Dashboard by consolidating submissions from sub-sectors.
  • Encouraging working capital improvements by supporting timely invoice processing.
  • Providing financial support to the Levy central overhead functions, including month-end adjustments, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Offering transactional assistance to the central overhead team with invoice processing, supplier account creation, IT equipment capital expenditures, etc.
  • Managing the Levy finance query inbox.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of all colleagues within the organization and reporting any incidents through the approved company processes.
The ideal candidate for the Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant role will possess:
  • Experience in management accounting, including accounting adjustments.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in collaborating with non-financial professionals to ensure the delivery of accurate financial information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly and logically, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to take initiative and think innovatively.
Desirable qualifications include:
  • Active pursuit of CIMA/ACCA/ACA or similar qualifications, along with relevant experience in accounting roles.
  • Adaptability to changing environments.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Cognos, and QuickSight as tools for analysis and reporting.
