Imperial War Museums: A Leader in Museum Pedagogy

The Director, Learning and Engagement will play a pivotal role in shaping the museum's approach to engaging diverse audiences and promoting understanding and empathy through human stories of ingenuity, courage, sacrifice, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a compelling learning and engagement strategy that aligns with the museum's purpose and vision, and supports the wider Audiences and Public Engagement strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Audience & Public Engagement leadership to create innovative programmes that achieve measurable outcomes and support the museum's strategic plans and priorities.
  • Design and implement effective strategies and programmes that cater to diverse audiences, leveraging the museum's unique strengths and USP.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of learning and engagement initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in museum pedagogy, and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
