Job Title: Director, Learning and Engagement

About the Role:

The Director, Learning and Engagement will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive strategy that supports the Imperial War Museums' purpose and vision. This will involve working closely with the Audience and Public Engagement leadership to create engaging and relevant learning experiences for diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a compelling learning and engagement strategy that aligns with the museum's USP, vision, and purpose.
  • Collaborate with the Collections and Curatorial team to create co-created and co-curated programmes and projects that involve individuals and communities with relevant lived experience.
  • Lead the development of innovative and critically rigorous audience engagement propositions, and implement effective evaluation procedures to measure their impact.
  • Work closely with the Development team to maximise fundraising and supporter engagement around critical enquiry and thematic focus areas.
  • Contribute to successful income-generating strategies and support revenue-generating opportunities across the museum.
  • Oversee the implementation schedule and budget of Learning and Engagement programmes.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have an exceptional understanding of museum pedagogy and a proven ability to develop effective strategies and innovative programmes. They will be able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and have a strong track record of delivering measurable outcomes.
