About the Role

The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to take on the role of Team Lead for our expanding IAPT service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the locality Step 2 Team, ensuring effective delivery of guided self-help interventions and providing line management supervision to Senior PWPs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) qualification and ensure effective delivery of Step 2 interventions within the service.
  • Develop and provide Step 2 workshops, ensuring all interventions are in line with best practice.
  • Provide line management supervision to Senior PWPs and supervision of supervision to Senior PWPs.
  • Ensure adequate oversight of outcomes of PWPs in the service and support Senior PWPs to develop their clinical skills.
  • Manage a small caseload, providing Step 2 interventions via guided self-help face-to-face, by telephone, online, and in workshops to individuals with common mental health problems.
  • Ensure recommendations from Serious Untoward Incidents (SUIs), near misses, complaints, and other incidents are implemented across the Step 2 team.
  • Participate in working groups or service development forums to develop policies, protocols, or guidelines relevant to the Brighton and Hove Wellbeing service.
  • Monitor and review quantitative and qualitative Step 2 team vital signs (KPIs) measures with the team, ensuring staff involvement.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate certificate in Low Intensity CBT interventions.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Qualification in provision of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner supervision.
  • Experience of providing professional support/supervision and motivation of staff.
  • Understanding of Health and Social Care Governance.
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience as a PWP.
  • Demonstrable experience working as a Senior PWP and delivering supervision, both case management and clinical skills.
  • Experience of delivering training and developing clinical skills of other staff.
  • Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice in a primary care setting.
  • Knowledge and experience of effective risk assessment and risk management in a primary care setting.
  • Knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence-based Step 2 interventions.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering group-based interventions.
  • Experience in working in a team and partnership working.
  • Experience of working within a service with demanding targets and performance management.
  • Experience in supporting service development.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of outcome measures used in an IAPT primary care setting.
