Decant Officer

Job Overview
Oxford City Council is seeking two housing professionals to manage the decanting process for older individuals in various Housing for Older People schemes.
This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity. Internal applicants should follow the Council's policy on secondments and discuss their application with their current line manager in advance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a specialist coordination and liaison service to prepare and assist tenants when they are required to move home due to regeneration, planned works, or emergency situations.
- Liaise with tenants, their families, other teams, agencies, and contractors to ensure great outcomes for our tenants.
- Utilize excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to provide a supportive environment for tenants.
- Converse at ease and provide advice in accurate spoken English to ensure effective communication.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and diligent approach to supporting tenants in stressful situations.
- Ability to work calmly and enthusiastically in emergency situations.
- Desire to go the extra mile to make tenants feel supported.
- Essential ability to converse at ease and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
