Position Summary:

As a Lead Quantity Surveyor, you will take on a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of large-scale roofing and cladding projects. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that all projects remain within budgetary constraints while maintaining high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the commercial lead, overseeing cost management across various construction projects.
  • Prepare and present project cash flow forecasts to clients, ensuring transparency in financial requirements.
  • Efficiently manage the payment processes, including negotiating terms and preparing applications for payments.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, addressing any unfavorable terms and seeking legal advice when necessary.
  • Conduct valuations for completed works, collaborating with Contractor Quantity Surveyors to ensure accurate payment applications.
  • Regularly visit project sites to monitor progress and capture variations, participating in site meetings to align costs with project timelines.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks related to cost variations, addressing them proactively.
  • Provide clients with pricing for contract variations, reviewing construction documents to identify discrepancies.
  • Oversee procurement processes and manage payments for subcontractors in conjunction with the contracts team.
  • Lead and mentor the team, setting objectives and conducting performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (HND/HNC in Construction or Commercial Management).
  • Experience with both main contractors and subcontractors is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and proficiency in cost estimating and project control software.
