Position Overview: We are excited to present a remarkable opportunity for a Lead Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team, focusing on significant projects for local authorities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, you will oversee the commercial aspects of various projects.
  • Utilizing your expertise in construction and contractual matters to guide both commercial and operational teams.
  • Mentoring junior commercial staff as needed, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Engaging in negotiations with all stakeholders, providing support and guidance to project teams.
  • Conducting thorough commercial reviews of project timelines prior to submission.
  • Advising on assessments of delays and disruptions as required.
  • Supervising the valuation and management of subcontractor agreements, ensuring timely payments and final account settlements.
  • Offering support to minimize disputes with clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring compliance with insurance requirements for all contracts and subcontracts.

The Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will possess substantial experience in a similar capacity, with a strong preference for those with a background in civil engineering.

Qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated process-driven approach with robust commercial acumen and negotiation capabilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant construction methodologies and membership in a recognized professional body is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of project and risk management principles will be beneficial.
