Position Overview

As a vital member of the neonatal transport team, you will engage in the safe and efficient transfer of critically ill infants requiring specialized medical attention. This role is essential within the Southwest neonatal network, which manages a significant number of transfers annually, ensuring that infants receive the necessary care close to their home facilities.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a Band 6 Neonatal Critical Care Transport Nurse, you will:

  • Participate in comprehensive training to prepare for a variety of transport scenarios, either independently or as part of a collaborative medical team.
  • Utilize your neonatal nursing expertise to ensure high-quality care during transfers, which may involve both road and air transport.
  • Work effectively with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and paramedics, to provide optimal care during critical situations.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure, ensuring the safety and well-being of infants and their families.
  • Engage in nurse-led transfers for stable infants requiring high-dependency care, following appropriate triage protocols.
