Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at North Bristol NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to critically ill newborns and their families.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and infant's parents.
  • Supervise and guide other staff members, including healthcare assistants and students, on a daily basis.
  • Contribute to the provision of a good learning environment by taking on the role of mentor/assessor for learners, including student nurses and support workers.

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) or equivalent qualification.
  • Teaching and assessing qualification or willingness to undertake after 2 years post-registration.
  • Approved Neonatal Life Support Course.
  • Child Protection training Level 3 (Level 2 considered, but must be prepared to do Level 3 when in post).

Desirable Criteria

  • Neonatal qualification in specialism or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience of working in a Neonatal Setting (as a last placement student) or significant evidence of knowledge of specialism.
  • Mentorship experience.
