EAL Support Specialist

Job Summary
Veritas Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced EAL Support Specialist to join our team at a co-educational secondary school in Hounslow. The successful candidate will provide support to students who do not speak English as a first language, working under the instruction of the EAL teacher and contributing to the school's SEN team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial language ability assessments to identify students' needs
- Liaise with colleagues across the school to provide feedback on students and support their learning
- Deliver interventions for small EAL groups and one-to-one sessions
- Assist with language translations and provide differentiated EAL resources to support students' learning
- Encourage classroom participation and ensure students have access to the curriculum
Requirements
- Recent degree in a relevant field, ideally English-related
- Previous experience working with young people, EAL, or special educational needs
- TEFL/CELTA certificate
- Positive attitude to working with young people and children
- High levels of professionalism
- Valid Enhanced Child DBS Check
