HMP Erlestoke operates as a Category C correctional facility, accommodating adult male offenders who have been sentenced.

Position Overview

HMP Erlestoke is currently enhancing its facilities and expanding its operations, seeking several dedicated operational security officers to support the security team.

As a Security Officer, your role will involve collaborating with the operational security personnel.

Your primary responsibilities will include escorting and assisting contractors during maintenance activities throughout the facility, conducting visitor checks, performing toolkit inspections, managing main gate operations, and executing vehicle searches.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of visitors on-site and preventing the entry of unauthorized items.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday - 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (with potential for overtime)

Compensation:
£13.10 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Qualifications and Skills
No prior experience is necessary as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, a calm demeanor, and a heightened sense of security awareness. Teamwork and excellent interpersonal abilities are essential. Candidates must provide two satisfactory references and will undergo a full clearance process.
