The Configuration Team operates within our Implementation Department, dedicated to delivering exceptional pension administration solutions for both new and existing clients. Our projects vary significantly, from large-scale strategic transformations to tailored client-specific solutions. Collaboration with various stakeholders is essential, as our activities and expertise are diverse.

In this role, you will engage with one of the largest public sector pension schemes in the UK, ensuring that all facets of the transition and change project are executed efficiently and to a high standard within a structured project framework.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients throughout the implementation process to comprehend their needs, data, processes, and systems, providing recommendations for our products and services.
  • Conduct system demonstrations for both current and prospective clients as necessary.
  • Manage project activities, including identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
  • Gather, organize, and document scheme and product information.
  • Evaluate existing business processes and establish new operational procedures as needed.
  • Perform system configuration and quality control testing, including peer reviews of requirements documentation.
  • Contribute to the technical development of our technology platforms through analysis, design participation, and specification creation for new or enhanced developments.
  • Assist in the sales and procurement process by communicating with potential clients.
  • Support the development of strategies aimed at improving transition and change processes, services, and standards.
  • Provide assistance to your line manager in effectively managing any staff under their supervision.
  • Conduct system configuration and verification.
  • Perform data analysis and verification tasks.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK pensions, including a comprehensive understanding of DB, DC, CARE, and Annuities, along with their administration and system/process implications.
  • Ability to articulate:

pension member records and their configurations, the relationships among members, Trustees, schemes, actuaries, funds, and investments, various types of Pension Schemes, different member statuses and their respective calculations, the roles of regulatory bodies in this sector, and system setup knowledge including parameter usage.

  • Demonstrated capability and knowledge of pension and employee benefit technology platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, capable of creating automated calculators with basic formulas, and adept at using filters, sorting, pivot tables, lookups, control totals, and formatting cells according to specific guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of MS Access.
  • Ability to comprehend requirements and produce specifications.
