Enforcement Team Leader Opportunity

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a Local Authority in Derbyshire on the hire of an Enforcement Team Leader (Grade 10).

This is a full-time and permanent position (37 hours per week) with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for a blend of home and office working in a stunning location.

About the Role

The main purpose of this role is to manage a small team of planning enforcement officers to ensure that investigations into reported breaches of planning control are conducted in accordance with the District Council's Enforcement Customer Charter and Service Standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on negotiations, planning applications, and appeal work arising from such investigations.

Requirements
  • A relevant Town Planning qualification or a related discipline
  • MRTPI
  • Substantial experience and knowledge of planning legislation, planning enforcement, and case law
  • Staff management experience
  • Able to demonstrate sound judgement
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Effective communicator
  • Driving Licence and ability to visit sites throughout the council's area
