Enforcement Team Leader Job Opportunity

Penguin Recruitment is excited to support a Local Authority in Derbyshire in their search for an Enforcement Team Leader.

This is a full-time and permanent position, with a hybrid working arrangement allowing for a blend of home and office working.

The council is based in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, offering a unique and special place to work.

Job Purpose

The main purpose of this role is to manage a small team of planning enforcement officers, ensuring investigations into reported breaches of planning control are conducted in accordance with the District Council's Enforcement Customer Charter and Service Standards.

The successful candidate will lead on negotiations, planning applications, and appeal work arising from such investigations.

Requirements
  • A relevant Town Planning qualification or a related discipline
  • MRTPI
  • Substantial experience and knowledge of planning legislation, planning enforcement, and case law
  • Staff management experience
  • Able to demonstrate sound judgement
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Effective communicator
  • Driving Licence and ability to visit sites throughout the council's area
