Job Title: Development Management Team Leader

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a Local Authority in Derbyshire on the hire of a Development Management Team Leader. This is a full-time and permanent position with a competitive salary of £47,491 - £50,893pa.

About the Role

This position includes a £2,000 welcome payment and a grant of up to £6,000 may be available via a relocation assistant scheme. The main purpose of this role is to provide professional planning leadership and day-to-day operational management to staff within the Development Management Section.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide professional planning leadership and day-to-day operational management to staff within the Development Management Section.
  2. Maintain an operational case load of predominantly major planning case work.
  3. Manage and develop a team of planning officers to ensure the delivery of high-quality planning services.
  4. Develop and implement effective planning policies and strategies to support the council's objectives.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including developers, community groups, and other local authorities.
Requirements
  1. A relevant Town Planning qualification or a related discipline.
  2. MRTPI.
  3. Substantial Development Management experience.
  4. Staff management experience.
  5. Effective communicator.
  6. Driving Licence and ability to visit sites throughout the council's area.
