About the Role

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a Local Authority in the hire of an Enforcement Team Leader (Grade 10).

This is a full-time and permanent position (37 hours per week) with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for a blend of home and office working.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a small team of planning enforcement officers to ensure investigations into reported breaches of planning control are conducted in accordance with the District Council's Enforcement Customer Charter and Service Standards.
  • Action is taken to resolve breaches of planning legislation and lead on negotiations, planning applications, and appeal work arising from such work.
Requirements
  • A relevant Town Planning qualification or a related discipline.
  • MRTPI.
  • Substantial experience and knowledge of planning legislation, planning enforcement, and case law.
  • Staff management experience.
  • Able to demonstrate sound judgement.
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Driving Licence and ability to visit sites throughout the council's area.
