Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Engagement Manager to join our Amazon team. As a key member of our National Security, Defence and Public Safety team, you will be responsible for driving strategic engagement activities across the UK defence, national security and public safety sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Senior External Engagement: Drive a programme of senior external engagement activity across government, industry and academia in support of our Business Development activity.
  2. Customer Engagement Management: Maintain strategic oversight and coordination of our customer engagement activity market verticals through programme management of agreed stakeholder maps.
  3. Executive Briefing and Thought Leadership: Form and deliver senior executive briefing material, including talking points and messaging, in coordination with teams across Amazon.
  4. Thought Leadership and Promotion: Produce and promote our National Security, Defence and Public Safety thought leadership material in support of external promotional activity.
  5. Representation and Deputation: Represent Amazon in defence and security committee meetings, think tank events, major UK and international summits, and senior executive briefings, deputising for the Director as required.
  6. Special Projects: Deliver National Security, Defence and Public Safety Special Projects, including social value initiatives and dedicated promotional event activity in our sectors.
  7. Policy and Political Engagement: Liaise with Public Policy to support effective senior policy and political engagement.
  8. Team Spokesperson: Serve as team spokesperson for UK Defence, National Security and Public Safety issues, as required.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Experience in developing, negotiating and executing business agreements.
  2. Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organisational level.
  3. Bachelor's degree or equivalent military or professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner.
  2. Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organisations.
