Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Engagement Manager to join our Amazon team. As a key member of our Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) UK National Security, Defence and Public Safety (NSDPS) team, you will be responsible for driving strategic engagement activities across the UK defence, national security and public safety sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Senior External Engagement: Drive a programme of senior external engagement activity across government, industry and academia in support of our Business Development activity.
  2. Strategic Oversight: Maintain strategic oversight and coordination of NSDPS team customer engagement activity market verticals through programme management of agreed stakeholder map.
  3. Executive Briefing: Form and deliver senior executive briefing material including talking points and messaging in coordination with teams across Amazon.
  4. Thought Leadership: Produce and promote NSDPS thought leadership material in support of external promotional activity.
  5. Representation: Represent Amazon in defence and security committee meetings, think tank events, major UK and international summits, and senior executive briefings.
  6. Special Projects: Deliver NSDPS Special Projects including social value initiatives and dedicated promotional event activity in NSDPS sectors.
  7. Liaison: Liaise with Public Policy to support effective senior policy and political engagement.
  8. Team Spokesperson: Serve as team spokesperson for UK Defence, National Security and Public Safety issues.

Requirements

  1. Business Development Experience: Experience in developing, negotiating and executing business agreements.
  2. Strategic Influence: Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.
  3. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent military or professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Executive Experience: Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner.
  2. Sales Experience: Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations.
