Job Title: Retail Category Manager

Gopuff is a leading provider of immediate everyday needs, delivering a wide range of products to customers in just minutes. As a Retail Category Manager, you will play a crucial role in building, launching, and promoting our brand and product categories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Gopuff's retail business, omni-channel strategies, and assortment with a focus on Beverage/Non-Food products.
  • Establish a Beverage/Non-Food assortment that is centred around customer demand, commercial targets, and brand relationships.
  • Maintain costing, pricing, contracts, and product catalogue information.
  • Develop relationships with local, regional, and national vendors across Gopuff geographies for assortment opportunities.
  • Responsible for selecting, pricing, and positioning of retail category products to create an exciting range for different Gopuff customer profiles.
  • Determine product assortment contingent with location requirements in mind as it pertains to volume, size, distribution, and local trends.
  • Monetise campaigns with major CPG partners through Gopuff's Ad platform.
  • Conduct pricing analysis both nationally and locally to ensure key product lines are represented effectively in all markets and margin targets are met.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Regional Managers, and Store Managers to maximise revenue and financial targets within the respective product classifications.
  • Track, measure, and report financial impact of initiatives against financial targets.
  • Utilise external resources to stay updated on category and omni-channel trends with competitive market data.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4+ years of related experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with strong proficiency in analytics tools including Microsoft Excel/gSheets. Experience of working with Looker is a plus.
  • Capability of taking initiative, ownership, and accountability for the categories in the retail business.
  • Ability to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Affinity for using research, syndicated data, and consumer-specific insights to inform creative and productive decision-making as it pertains to assortment and category management.
  • Demonstrable ability to navigate a wide spectrum of product lines specific to our customer.
  • Experience in grocery retailer or CPG manufacturer required.
  • Experience in negotiating supplier or customer agreements required.
  • Experience in working with packaged/branded categories is highly beneficial.
