The Team
Our team collaborates with a diverse array of families, individuals, trustees, and professionals in the private wealth advisory field. Each client presents unique challenges, but they all require pragmatic guidance to prepare for the future and navigate arising issues.
Inheritance laws and conventions vary globally, yet our extensive experience enables us to assist clients in transferring wealth fairly and efficiently at the appropriate time.
The Role
As our department expands, we are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Exeter team.
This role involves supporting individuals, companies, and trusts both domestically and internationally, encompassing all aspects of private client work, including the drafting of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Domestic Trusts, probate processes, and tax planning. We also provide guidance on residence and domicile structuring for international clients.
The position is primarily office-based, with opportunities for remote work as you gain experience and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Administering probate, including liaising with relevant institutions;
- Managing the payment of liabilities and legacies;
- Handling the receipt of funds;
- Drafting Powers of Attorney;
- Assisting with attorney and trust administration;
- Organizing and filing documents and correspondence;
- Opening, archiving, and billing files;
- Compiling and scheduling document bibles;
- Facilitating client meetings for document signing, including Wills;
- Maintaining effective client relationships;
- Actively participating in marketing initiatives;
- Ensuring compliance with Lexcel procedures in file management.
