About the Team

Our team collaborates with a diverse range of families, individuals, trustees, and professionals in the private wealth advisory sector. Each client presents unique circumstances, yet they all require actionable advice to facilitate future planning and address emerging challenges.

Inheritance laws and conventions differ globally, but our extensive experience allows us to assist clients in transferring wealth fairly and efficiently at the appropriate time.

Position Overview

As our department expands, we are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Exeter team.

This role involves working with individuals, corporations, and trusts both domestically and internationally, handling various private client matters such as Will preparation, Powers of Attorney, Domestic Trusts, probate, and tax planning. We also provide guidance on residence and domicile planning for international clients.

While the position is primarily office-based, there will be opportunities to work remotely as you gain experience and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administering probate, including communication with relevant institutions;
  • Managing payments of liabilities and legacies;
  • Handling the receipt of funds;
  • Preparing Powers of Attorney;
  • Assisting with attorney and trust administration;
  • Organizing documents, correspondence, and other paperwork;
  • Managing file openings, archiving, and billing;
  • Coordinating and compiling documentation;
  • Facilitating client meetings for document signing, including Wills;
  • Maintaining effective client relationships;
  • Actively participating in marketing initiatives;
  • Ensuring compliance with Lexcel procedures in file management.
