Job Title: Play Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Play Assistant to join our team at Alexandra & Kent House breakfast and afterschool club. As a Play Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and develop through a variety of play opportunities.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality play activities for children aged 4-11. You will work closely with the team to ensure that the children's needs are met, and that they have a fun and engaging experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning and preparing play activities, including setting up play spaces and moving furniture and play equipment.
  • Support children in their play, encouraging them to explore and learn through play-based activities.
  • Provide refreshments to children, promoting healthy eating habits and positive behavior.
  • Ensure good hygiene, health, and safety standards are met, and administer first aid when necessary.
  • Act as a designated key worker for a number of children, communicating with parents and teachers about their needs and progress.
  • Support with club administration, including responding to safeguarding concerns and reporting any issues to your line manager.
Requirements:
  • Level 2 or 3 childcare/play work relevant qualification.
  • Food Hygiene certificate.
  • Paediatric First Aid.
  • Safeguarding Children.
