About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Play Assistant to join our team at Mytime Active. As a Play Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality play opportunities for children, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering a variety of play activities that cater to the needs and interests of children.
  • Consult with children to understand their needs and preferences, and involve them in the planning process to ensure their participation and engagement.
  • Set up play spaces, including moving furniture and play equipment, to create a safe and stimulating environment for children.
  • Support with the collection and delivery of children between school and the childcare setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Provide refreshments, including hot and cold snacks, to children while promoting positive behavior and involvement.
  • Ensure good hygiene, health, and safety standards are met, and administer first aid when necessary.
  • Act as a designated key worker for a number of children, communicating with parents and teachers to understand their needs and progress.
  • Support with administrative tasks, such as club administration, as required.
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and report any issues to your line manager.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge in childcare and playwork.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Level 2 or 3 childcare or playwork qualification.
  • Food Hygiene certificate.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Safeguarding Children qualification.
