Job Title: Play Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Play Assistant to join our team at Alexandra & Kent House breakfast and afterschool club. As a Play Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and develop through a variety of play opportunities.

About the Role:
  • Assist with planning, preparing and delivering high-quality play activities that promote children's physical, emotional and social development.
  • Work closely with children and colleagues to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages children to participate and engage in play.
  • Set up play spaces and equipment, ensuring that they are safe and accessible for children.
  • Support with the collection and delivery of children safely between school and the childcare setting.
  • Provide refreshments and snacks to children, promoting healthy eating habits and positive behavior.
  • Ensure good hygiene, health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Administer first aid when necessary and respond to safeguarding concerns.
  • Develop strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues to provide a high-quality service.
Requirements:
  • Level 2 or 3 childcare/play work relevant qualification.
  • Food Hygiene certificate.
  • Paediatric First Aid.
  • Safeguarding Children.
