About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Play Assistant to join our team at Alexandra & Kent House. As a Play Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and develop through a variety of play opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality play activities that cater to the needs and interests of children aged 4-11.
  • Consult with children to involve them in the planning process and ensure their voices are heard.
  • Set up play spaces, including moving furniture and play equipment, to create a stimulating and interactive environment.
  • Support with the collection and delivery of children safely between school and the childcare setting.
  • Provide refreshments, including hot and cold snacks, while promoting positive behavior and involvement among children.
  • Ensure good hygiene, health, and safety standards are met at all times.
  • Administer first aid when necessary and respond to safeguarding concerns.
  • Act as a designated key worker for a number of children, communicating with parents and teachers about their needs and progress.
  • Support with club administration and undertake training to adhere to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge in childcare and playwork.
  • A passion for providing children with positive experiences and promoting their well-being.
  • A professional attitude and commitment to delivering an excellent childcare service.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to promote positive behavior among children.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude and a focus on customer service.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the business, including working term-time hours.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Level 2 or 3 childcare or playwork qualification.
  • Food Hygiene certificate.
  • Paediatric First Aid.
  • Safeguarding Children.
